Abstract Background

about.

My name is Madison Cavanaugh and I am a junior studying nutritional sciences at the University of Florida.I am currently enrolled in Biochemistry, Physics and Nutrition classes this upcoming fall semester.  I am a part of the University Scholars Cancer Research Program

As a survivor of pediatric cancer, I have always been captivated by cancer research. From the intricate process of bone marrow transplants, which replace unhealthy blood-forming cells with healthy ones, to spinal taps aimed at collecting cerebrospinal fluid to detect lingering cancerous cells- every aspect intrigues me. My personal journey has sparked a profound curiosity about the complexities involved in developing cancer drugs and individualized treatment plans while recognizing the varied reactions patients have to chemotherapy,.
